New layer fill

Open your file. We are using one of the papers uploaded on Tuesday (12 January). Create a new layer. Go to Edit>Fill and select the Color option from the drop-down. Choose the colour you want from the swatch and click OK in both dialogs. This floods the layer with colour.

Blend away

Obviously all this colour flooding has made the original disappear. That’s no problem – just head to the Layers palette and click on the blending modes menu to access them. Good ones to start with are Multiply, Lighten or Overlay but do try a few to get the effect you want. We used Color Burn for a trippy effect.
