Enter the latest ‘shots’ photography competition if you’re a photography student to win cash prizes
shots is proud to announce the fifth annual competition for photography students worldwide. The theme of this year’s competition is ‘FIRST IMPRESSION’.
We are looking for a short narrative sequence of original work (3-10 images) that responds to and reflects this theme in an original and dynamic way.
This is a unique opportunity for current and graduating photography students. Each year, shots publishes a substantial Directory – a major resource for international brands and the creative industries that serve them. It is bought and used all year by creative directors and art buyers worldwide.
There will be 60 finalists chosen from the competition entry; and from those finalists, ten outstanding submissions, including three runners-up and an overall winner, will be announced in November 2010. All 60 finalists will be given space in the Directory to present their work along with contact details. One image from the winning entry will feature on the cover. The overall winner will also receive a cash prize of £500. Selected runners-up will be given additional full-page exposure throughout the book. All finalists’ work will feature in an online exhibition when the shots 2011 Directory is published in December 2010.
The competition is open to all current photography students. Entry is free. The competition will be judged by a professional team from the advertising and photography community, and shots.
The closing date for entries is Saturday 31 July 2010. However, shots is willing to accept entries after the deadline if the candidate makes contact at the following address to express their interest: youngphotographers@shots.net
