We review ProPhotoSolutions printing and framing options for digital artists and photographers
ProPhoto Solutions
We take a look at the company’s product line and services, and review final items
UK-based bespoke framing company ProPhoto Solutions provides a delectable array of mounting options. Logging on to its home page (www.prophotosolutions.co.uk), it presents a sleek and professional facade. But does this impressive style translate to its product line too?
The ProPhoto Solutions website is, as stated, very contemporary. Observation and navigation is simple and leaves you feeling refreshed when searching for the items that you want. There is no lag with this site and that makes your shopping experience all the more pleasurable. All items are easily recognised through categorised product sets, at the foot of the interface – including Acrylic, Canvas and Photographic/Art.

Professionalism: We were impressed with the quality of the Boxed Acrylic frame supplied – sturdy and fitted with a high-gloss finish, this frame solution looked every inch professional
To browse items, simply click on the ‘View our online eBrochure’ option. This activates a full screen, high-res edition, which gives you the basics. Full of working examples, it displays the potential of the products on offer. It also provides a diagnostic of materials, frame colours and manufacturing processes – so you know exactly the right display for your project. The examples available are innovative, offering solutions such as Acrylic Float, a 10mm acrylic panel providing a mounting that creates the illusion of floating from the wall, and the stunning Acrylic DiBond, a contemporary 3mm composite aluminium panel with mounted 10mm acrylic panel and premium brushed double metal stand-offs. Traditional favourites, Boxed Acrylic and Mounted Canvas, are also available.
User-friendly website aside, ProPhoto Solutions is one of the most favoured providers in the market, geared towards trade professionals who are looking to maximise profits. However, those utilising its services for studio and exhibition display also benefit. Another bonus is that many of the company’s contemporary styles aren’t DIY dependent, due to an easy-to-grasp, unique wire hanging system.

Bespoke execution: All ProPhoto Solutions items are put together by hand and finished to perfection
The company promises to deliver outstanding items without any compromise, and its print and manufacture processes correspond with this principle. The ProPhoto Solutions studio has a fully custom calibrated workflow that ensures great colour rendition. The business promises to use only the finest quality materials, as director Chris Tyrrell explains: “All our products are printed and made in-house, put together by hand and finished to perfection. We have, over time, developed some great, alternative display options to try and offer something different to what is currently available through the ‘big boys’. From photographic enlargements through to art reproduction, we offer a cost-effective solution to prospective clients.”
We found that the only thing missing from the ProPhoto Solutions experience is the lack of an image uploader/virtual simulator – associated with other competitors – on the website. This would help consumers comprehend styles and would, as a result, make them less apprehensive about placing an order. However, additions such as a full art reproduction service with the facility to reproduce artwork with amazing image clarity is a major advantage for digital publishers and can put consumers’ minds at rest that items are first class. We can certainly verify this through the acrylic box we received in the office (pictured), which displayed a very high-standard finish.
