PRESS RELEASE:

Oxfordshire, UK, 26 November 2009

Alamy, the world’s largest online stock photo site, is launching a competition to re-design its home page.

The agency, which has just celebrated its 10th anniversary, is offering designers the chance of winning up to £2,000 by coming up with some fresh, innovative and exciting ideas.

It wants to create two new home pages – one to impress and inform first time visitors and one for regular customers who want to search for images quickly without distraction.

A full brief for the competition and details of how to enter are available at: www.alamy.com

Why would a professional company like Alamy chose not to use a professional designer? I would rather hope that Alamy would see how difficult all creatives are finding it to make a living and actually hire someone to design their home page.

Not a bad thing to have on your CV if you won though (as well as the £2000 cash!)….I think it’s a good opportunity for those looking for a break into the industry.

Does anyone know if you can get the lightbox images unwatermarked for their submissions?

Alamy are very tight lipped about who won this…..if indeed anyone did!
