Packard Bell’s NEW brand and product line launch

by Adam Smith. 28 May 2009

Advanced Photoshop magazine were present yesterday at the launch of Packard Bell’s new and exciting brand identity, taking place in the surroundings of Kensington’s premier venue The Roof Gardens.

Acer, PC manufacturer and global internet-enabler (www.acer.co.uk), have invested to help create a brand new Packard Pell, now known as PB, whose products are now driven by simplicity and beauty.

In a digital age where technologies are peaking, PB recognise that computers are becoming more of a commodity than a necessity. For this reason PB’s new launch dismisses the rational and focuses on an emotional purpose, culminating in stunning pieces of hardware. Style, personality, social interactivity and easy operation are principles of their latest range.

Emmanuel Fromont, Vice President EMEA at PB explains, “This is a defining moment for us. This is a stronger PB in 2009 than in 2008. Brand awareness is now extremely strong, especially in the UK. So we are investing in ourselves as a cool brand, a lifestyle brand. We are playing on a vast array of colours and again this is about the choice and lifestyle opportunities that PB deliver.” He went on to endorse Acer’s input by revealing, “Acer are reinventing the PB visual identity. Our collective ambition is to be an industry player and go after our competitors in the market.” They will be doing this by shifting to the mobile hardware sector in a big way.

This was certainly apparent as Advanced Photoshop magazine had the chance to sample some of their latest attractive goods, including the latest EasyNote notebook series. We were impressed with what we saw. PB entry-level products are ultimately professional in design, providing hi-end styles at minimal costs.

The Easy Note TR85: telltale signature notebook especially caught our eye. With its slim line design, 15.6-inch edge-to-edge glass display screen and red touch capacity hotkeys, providing one-key back up and multi gesture capabilities, it’s a sexy machine geared up to accommodate on-the-go graphic artists. Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 and Nero 8 Essentials are included.
