Altering the colour of type
Altering the colour of type
When you’re working with type, the obvious way to change colour is to highlight the text and then pick a new hue by double-clicking the Foreground square and choosing from the Color Picker. Trouble is, because the text is highlighted, you can’t see the colour change. There is a way around this. Type your text and then highlight it. Instead of clicking the Foreground square, click the colour square in the Options bar. This will bring up a Color Picker. As you change the colour, you’ll see the type alter accordingly.

nope
the next letters you type change colour . how to change colour on existing words, without them being highlighted first?
Hello Judith,
Oopsie, I appear to have missed out an important point. As soon as you have typed your words, select them (this is what I missed out) and click the little colour square in the top options bar (if you hover over it, you’ll see that it’s called Set text color). The Color Picker will appear. As you click on a colour, you can see the text change to the colour you have picked.
Sorry about the confusion – the old brain is a bit befuddled today!
MAGIC ! (after I moved the text colour box over a bit !)
Just a quick tip to do with the text highlight. If you have text highlighted, you can toggle the highlight on and off with Ctrl or Command H. That way you can see all of your changes as they are meant to be.
Great tip, thanks Dave!
