Once your Size and Angle Jitters are set to 100% and you’ve sprayed a bunch of leaves onto your canvas, try Colorizing the brushes using a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer, reducing the strength of colour using Saturation. If you are a fan of coloured pencils, check out this preset for creating the perfect effect in Photoshop. Taken from a tutorial in issue 62 of Photoshop Creative, where it was revealed how to create the image above, it will sort you out whenever you need a pencil effect.

To download the file, simply click the link below. To load the preset in Photoshop, open your tool presets folder (it’ll be named something like Adobe Photoshop>Presets>Tools). Back in PS, find the Tool Presets tab, click the small arrow to access the flyout menu and click Load tool Presets…

Press ‘B’ to select the brush tool, and choose the Pencil Brush from the Tool Presets tab. Now start your coloured pencil odyssey!
